Why people use Wheel of Who

  • Truly random and fair

Every spin uses your browser's cryptographic random number generator, so each entry has exactly the chance it should have.

  • Works on every screen

Big, smooth wheel on phones, tablets, laptops and classroom projectors. Use full screen mode for a crowd.

  • Your lists stay private

Entries are saved only in your own browser. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account to create.

  • Remove winners automatically

Pick a winner, remove it with one tap or let the wheel do it for you, until everyone has had a turn.

  • Weights, colors and sound

Make some entries more likely with *2 or *5, choose a color theme, set the spin time and turn sound and confetti on or off.

  • Share a ready wheel

One link opens the same wheel for your class, team or friends. Nothing to install.

Frequently asked questions

Is the wheel really random?

Yes. The winner is chosen with crypto.getRandomValues, the secure random number generator built into your browser. The animation only shows the result; it cannot be influenced.

Is Wheel of Who free?

Yes, completely free with no sign-up and no limits on entries or spins.

How many entries can I add?

Up to 1,000 entries. With many entries the names on the wheel get smaller, but every entry still has its fair chance.

How do I remove the winner?

Press Remove in the winner window, or turn on “Remove the winner after each spin” in Settings to do it automatically.

Can I make one entry more likely?

Yes. Add *2, *3 and so on at the end of a line, for example “Pizza *3”. That entry gets a slice three times bigger and three times the chance.

Are my entries saved?

Your last wheel is saved in your browser, so it is still there when you come back. Nothing is sent to a server.

How do I share my wheel?

Press Share. You get a link that opens the same entries, title and colors on any device.

Does it work on phones and tablets?

Yes. The wheel is built for touch screens and works in every modern browser on Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac and Chromebook.
